Is the State of Maine Discriminating on the Basis of Religion?
The state of maine provides public funding to students who live in a district that doesn't have a traditional public school. Students can use these funds to attend private schools all over the country, wide variation of institutions. But maine has a rule that funds can't be used at a school if that school is deemed to be sectarian. The question is whether that exclusion by the state ofmaine is unconstitutional discrimination against religion.
