The New Purple Dye
purple has always been associated with royalty, but when did it become acceptable for common folk to wear it without getting whipped? While eptory and purple are both because the shell fish, you know, became incredibly rare. The new purple dye that was discovered in the mid nineteenth century is called mauve. It was discovered by an 18 year old tist who was trying to find a synthetic version of quinine, which was a cure for malaria.
