The Ruby Slippers of the Judy Garland Museum

The Ruby slippers were stolen from the Judy Garland Museum in Grand Rapids, Minnesota. The museum did have both an alarm system and video surveillance equipment but neither one was working at the time of the burglary. There was no security camera footage of the break-in and no fingerprints, just a lone speck of red sequin left behind. Shaw had declined the museum's offer to store their Ruby slippers in a vault because he didn't like the idea that the guards would be touching these shoes on a daily basis.
