The Premier's Failure to Recall a Bottle of 1959 Grange
The trail that led to those illegal campaign donations began with the involvement of a corrupt labour power broker in an infrastructure company. Barrio Farrell then Premier, was asked about a $3,000 bottle of wine that was sent to his home. He denied having received it and said he didn't even know who Nick D'Girollamo was. But when ICAK pulled out a handwritten note saying thank you from Barrio Farrell to Nick D' Girollamo, Mr Farrell admitted giving false evidence. The next day, April 16, 2014, he resigned as Premier, having served just over three years. A new Liberal leader will be elected to take on the position of Premier of NSW.
