Each man enjoys a standard of living much higher than that of his savage ancestors. It is romantic nonsense to lament the passing of the happy days of primitive barbarism. Sick animals are doomed; deaf, near sighted or crippled savages must perish. The eliminative forces of natural selection are greatly reduced under social conditions.
