Hatfield and the Speedy Trial Act
The 11th Circuit upheld a delay in the trial of Donald Trump's son-in-law, Eric Holder. The defense argued that it was not allowed to wait 70 days for an appeals court decision on his behalf. Judge Timothy Kelly said he had no choice but to rule out time spent waiting until next week at Hatfield Airport after being granted a continuance under the Speedy Trial Act.
