The July Monarchy and the Orlionists

Napoleon II died in 1832, and his son Charles Louis Napoleon Bonapart became head of the extended Bonapart clan in exile. The July monarchy was a very narrow band of affluent liberals who believed that too much freedom might lead to revolution or terror. Only about 250,000 men had the vote under the July monarchy; 56,000 people served as leaders.
