The Impact of Technology on Productivity

The last big boom to productivity in the knowledge sector from IT was probably in the 80s and early 90s. We began to computerize inventory systems, for example, when we began to inventory content management systems. That really was a big boon in productivity. But putting desktop computers on the individual desk or cubicles did not seem to create an uptick in productivity.
