iOS 16 VPN tunnels leak data even when lockdown mode is enabled. Apple explicitly said that lockdown mode is supposed to be for high threat model people like journalists and political activists. We still think you should enable it when you can because it helps make those people less fingerprintable, but unfortunately it is victim to the same flaws that Apple does not seem to care about.
