At the center of it is a character who by their very nature is out of sync with where they are. The whole central thing about Spider-Man is he's a fish out of water. And yet what's extraordinary is that as it barrels along and as it throws all these different visual formats, you have to watch the thing three times otherwise you're going to miss half the gags.
