The Authority Is the Truth, Is It Legitimate or Not?
I think it could be true that you, as far as in this dynamic that we're exploring, the authority is the truth. And so there's this, it's almost like the approach is correct. You should try to conform with the truth as much as you can. But I think the danger is, is doing that to false idols and conforming to something that seems authoritative but isn't. What if everyone actually interfacing with a form of truth that is more deeply true and impervious to corruption than anything else that's ever served as the authority in the past? It may very well be the case that the principles and values that do so are kind of metaphysically true.
