In 92 % of us, lowincome neighborhoods have less tree coverage than high income neighborhoods. Parks serving low income households are four times smaller and four times more crowded. A lack of trees leads to heat, and lots of it. Sparse tree cover translates into higher rates of respiratory illness,. including childhood asthma hospitalizations and even debths.
