M, i'm fascinated by the idea of how we relate to judgment and perceive future judgment. When i was researching my book on certainty, i stumbled upon this phenomenon called the ellsburg paradox. The vast majority of people will choose the bag where they know it's 50 50, black or white. But when that experiment was repeated, and people were told, your choice will never be revealed to anybody, including the researchers, the bias away from taking action vanished.
