It seems like everywhere you look now, there's a new sort of proto-fascist, not explicitly fascist, forced kind of emerging on the political scene. The very Christian nature of the very religious nature of the far right in the US being so definitive. Even profoundly irreligious people like Donald Trump need to pretend to be somewhat evangelical and even that performance is necessary.
