The Oil Price Rises, You Know, That Happened Again
Opec, the organization formed 19 60, had a project. It argued that it wanted more of the windfall from those rising prices. And they exercised a choice to raise the posted price or tax rate on their own. They did that right as the war was beginning. But what caused the gas mines was the waget wage and price controls that the nixon administration had imposed,. before the oil crisis, and kept in place in the united states for all the 70s.
