What Is a Grip?
A grip is responsible for any kind of camera support where the camera is on a crane or it's on a dolly track. The electricians lamp operators generally supply the light and the grips control the light to a certain extent. Depending upon how the different DPs work, it can really differ. I would actually say that almost all DPs aspect, almost all get stymied and they say, what would Roger do? It would run round like a headless chicken, not knowing what to do as well probably.
