We're starting a new series on spiritual warfare. In each of the synoptic gospels, satan appears as the tempter and enemy of jesus christ. Satan is in no way equal to god; his knowledge, presence and power are limited because he is an angelic being created by god for the purpose of serving god. But satan wreaks havoc in god's good world. He declared war on god, and a third of the angels joined his army to oppose god.
