The Impacts of Plastic Pollution on the Great Pacific Garbage Patch

There are coastal species that we've found on the plastic pollution in the Great Pacific garbage patch and then there's also native pelagic species which call the plastics home now as well. We do see sea spiders and little crustaceans as well. The open ocean species they require these hard floating substrates in order to live. So they would have been doing this on logs or pumice which is the floating stone that results from volcanic eruptions.
