Martin Luther King loved to preach and he grew up hearing you know sermons all his life. He learned to quote from the Bible before he could read and his father his grandfather or both preachers. Big part of what drives Martin Luther King is this feeling that like he wants to do better than his father's this country preacher very emotional whooping and then hollering and walking through the aisles and stomping the podium. But King would always see himself as a Baptist preacher, not a community organizer or an activist. And when you watch him today he seems most comfortable in that pulpit.
