How to Live a Benedictine Spirituality

The Benedictines make three vowels. So we're familiar with poverty, chastity, and obedience. Their vowels are obedience, stability, and the conversion of life,. And these are important for us. We might not be called to the monastery. But we can put these into practice in our own daily, lay Christian life. First is obedience. You can't be obedient unless you first listen. That's the key. Listen. Well, who are we going to listen to? Well, we need to listen to the Word of God...and so that listen is key to the spiritual life.
