Astiocus's Recapture of Lesbos

Akiocus was sent to Lesbos in order to put down the rebellions at Mythimna and Mitoleen. When he arrived at Piaora on Lesbos, he set out to join the main Kion force at Arisus. He learned that just hours earlier, Leon and Diamadon had stormed Mitoleen with 25 Athenian ships. Astiocus then decided instead of trying to find a way to get into Mitoleen and to lead their defense, he would arm the inhabitants of Arisus and incite them into revolt too. The resulting Athenian recapture of Lesbos occurred just as Astiocus withdrew and sailed back to Kios.
