Avatars in the Movies Are a Bio-Mimetic Robot

The Avatar in the Avatar movies is basically a biological placeholder sort of. Whereas what you're dealing with are strictly machines. It's bio-mimetic but it's not using biological components. Is that the way that you might see things developing over the next 50 years? Or do you wish that there were some biological aspects to it? Would that make it easier?
