I remember helping him learn his lines for removing ones. The chorus girls were very kind to me. They'd take me up to their dressing room and keep me like a sort of a mascot. Your dad adopted the name Alda, right? Yeah, his name at birth as mine was Alfonso de Bruzzo. He took A.L. from Alfonso and DA from de Bruzzo and made all the letters 'Alda' His mother suffered from mental illness. She had no ambitions of being an actress.
