Are We Teaching Our Kids Independence?

i love this irony that being independent actually means the confidence in one's self and one's ability to ask for help. If im if i'm confident, if i'm proud amd confident that i'm an idiot, i have no problem asking for help. And it actually helps me whether the opinions and pressures put on me by others,. Because i'm ok being the idiot and that they disagree with me. Whereas when we quotean teach our kids independence, it's actually the opposite. They only become dependent on one group or one person, their parents, or maybe not even that.
