The Myth of the Rational Voter

In politics, unlike in normal life, if you make a grotesque mistake on purpose repeatedly over and over, the consequences for you are actually really trivial. So there's an extra reason why people are so rational about politics and that is that people care. It has become the religion of modernity. We can just see there's been a big falling off of traditional religiosity.
