The Disintegration of the Extended Family in Mixed Sex Schools
I remember the feverish rumours that would go around if there was a boy in the school. And so it really does take away our focus. We've complicated our lives by forcing girls and boys to be together all the time. There's also that extent... coming back again to the disintegration of the extended family. One of the defences that's made of mixed sex schools is that it's an important way of girls and boys learning about each other. But I'm not entirely convinced, because you can experience socialising with your sex without any element of sexual tension.
