The Aspiration of Healing the Severed Appearance

Sarvo Daya and many spiritual and religious traditions teach that we have this aspiration for who we can be, how we want the world to be. And then it's the inner practices and the outer actions that help to manifest. Rabbi David Nelson likes to tell a story of two brothers who went to their rabbi and they wanted to settle a long standing feud. As they were about to leave he asked each one to make a wish for the other in honor of the Jewish New Year. The first brother turned to the other and said, I wish you what you wish me at that the second brother threw up his hand and said, see Rabbi, he's starting it up again.
