How to Reward Yourself Mentally and Physically

The holy grail of life, I believe, is when effort feels good and no one gets to be in that state all the time. When we push ourselves physically, we get multiple opportunities to learn to go from "I don't want to" to "I'm kind of, that's my voice in my own head." And then you have to remember to reward yourself. That reward should not be in the form of an external reward. It's tempting to say, I'm going to reward myself with the meal. But the reward has to be one that you give yourself mentally.
