Why Do So Many People Live Under the Bridges?
I grew up definitely blaming individuals like, oh, that person needed to try harder, do better. And we kind of make up these small stories of, well, maybe so on. Instead of just blaming the system instead of individuals and saying, you know what, here in Houston, it's a fact of life that we don't have enough affordable housing. The city does not invest in affordable housing. So people have to make tough choices when housing prices are so high, they're not affordable. When we blame the system, then we also then can say, what can we do about that then?
