Sally Kohn: "I started this adventure with my daughter having some sort of grappling with my own ableist thoughts or... Yeah. And really wanted to challenge those through the book and in my own life" She says we still live in a culture where people send out the babies notes that say, mom and baby are healthy and healthy is great. But if they send out a thing that said,Mom and baby will have difficult lives and then die, that would be just as true. So I feel like I'm constantly sort of trying to live creatively and challenge some of those norms.
