In 17 68, estimates put the black population of london at around 15 thousand. And it probably grew further into the early 18 hundreds. There were black people in england as early as when the romans were here. But in the seventeenth and eighteenth century, black people really began to come in large numbers. Owing to the growing triangular slave trade. As british colonialism in north america and the caribbean boombed planters returned home with enslaved people as their servants.
