The idea of human as a political identity has been and continues to be shaped by whiteness. We don't actually think of ourselves as animals. Because of the humans we create, what we do simultaneously is create animal as a politicalidentity. And so you see the animalization of black people or any group that we desire to marginalize in our society. That's one of the driving things that I want people to take away from these conversations or what I understand about speciesism.
