The Effects of Depleted Tasks on Cheating
The more taxing and depleting a task is, the more a participant will cheat. Elizabeth Holmes was almost certainly like those in the depleted group who were running on fumes when she worked at Walgreen's. Research shows that being depleted can lead to really extreme levels of cheating. For example, when we have a chance to financially gain from a lie, we are far more likely to endorse that lie.
