The Elves Don't Have Morals, You Know?
The elves have parts to themselves that you might deem good or evil, depending upon how you look at them. They are aware of their own experience, and they want to optimize their own experience just like anyone else. Do they do things that support human kind from time to time? Sure,. But not because they intend to help humankind for the altruistic purpose of helping human kind. Altruism is, again, a moral thing. And so it's out of context, from their perspective, from their consciousness. It depends on if they think they can get one. There will be a price to be paid, yes.
