The Importance of Correlation in Public Health

After the bacteriological revolution it was essentially banished to the margins, if not silenced entirely. I think it's worth recovering that aspect of pre bacteriological public health knowledge and asking ourselves well what did it mean back in the 1840s or 1830s to talk about social justice as a cause of disease? And sometimes correlation is absolutely the key to effective public health breakthroughs.
