Is There a Great Future for Economic History?
The inquisition is correlated with the rise of Carlism, you know, this anti liberals in Spain. But what was the impact over time of the Inquisition? I think it's very interesting to say that they ended up reducing social capital in the 1970s. If at the same time, we go back to putting big questions, and we are more rigorous than just saying this is predestination in geometric variables then there is a great future for economic history.
