Adonay is a name for Lord, correct? Yes. And it's in the middle of a pentacle or a pentagram that has in the other parts tetragrammaton, which is also a holy name. So is this being used in some way to imbue the parchment with holiness? What's going on here? No certain explanation, but yeah, it's a holy name and they use these holy names and various other names for various different reasons.
