The Importance of Discipline in Combat
Commanding soldiers in combat requires a personal detachment from the men themselves. In a sense command is the loneliest job in the world. Physical activity kept me mentally alert, built my endurance, and kept me supple. You gotta have that discipline and you gotta work out every day. It's that important.
