How Do I Find a Story?

When people start to get really good at story telling they will go, how could i use thi storry or this would be a great story? So i'm constantly on the look out for stories around miscommunication. Every time i something happens in my personal life, i go, ah, that could be a really good story about miscommunication. It actually helps me refresh my stories and add to them. Depending on who i'm speaking to, i can just pick the one that i think would be the most relevant.
