Aristotle's Theory of Emotions and Value Judgments
The idea that emotions come from values and value judgments is in Aristotle quite definitely. And a lot of the more serious traditional thinkers recognize that, but Heinran has brought it back,. He's added this, I think, that beneath the threat is a value that's being threatened because fear is that kind of thing. But you've really developed this understanding of the difference between motivation by values and motivation by the desire to avoid a threat.
