Is Education a Universal Good?

The enlightenment believed in education as a great force for good in society. They thought that was the grounding for a good and prosperous society. Of course modern continental philosophy has capped at and ridiculed it, but we still have writers like stephen tinker's enlightenment. So remember, science and reason are important in the alontment, but so is this concept of progress. We're now on our rational process going forward, where things will only get better.
