The earliest and most controversial language group to split from Proto-Indo-European under the Kurgan hypothesis are the Anatolian languages. Many Neo-Hittites spoke Semitic languages but one of the strongest languages of the post-Hittite empire Anatolia is Luyian which is an Indo-European language. It's possible that there was a previous migration of Indo-European languages before the migration of the Southern branch of Slavik languages towards the Baltcom Peninsula.
