The Importance of Oaths to God
Naomi sends Ruth to work in the field of one of her relatives to gather barley. Naomi's relative landowner, Boaz, sees Ruth working hard and asks about her. This guy is way out of her league; he's a wealthy leader among the community. The Bible describes them as upright and virtuous both before and after this encounter.
