The Redesign of Notre Dame Cathedral

A proposed redesign for Notre Dame would return the roof to its wooden original and replace it with glass. The first thing that came to my mind is would the glass allow loads and loads more light into the cathedral? So I'm imagining that inside the cathedral experience wouldn't change tremendously. That's a good bonus reward for someone who is hunting hot stoppers.
