i was obsessed with gilbert s they din't even print his last name at the time, because he wasn't formally accused. i had seen this one article, and it was just like the idea of this woman passing a bag of over 300 thousand uros in cash in a bathroom. That detail basically, like, i thought about it all the time. And from a kind of like freelance reporter trying to tell stories, i just never really found a place where i could do it. I feel like the full story of his history is actually much richer than if i had done it at any point along the way. When he was prosecuted, that's when i started working on the story
