"I don't think I even knew at that point that she was a doctor of the church," he says. "As I dove into that, she quickly grew in my estimation and I just continued to befriend her." Therese spent all of her adult life within the Carmel in cloistered monastery. Her most famous one is her autobiography, The Story of the Soul.
