What's the Point of All This Symbolism?
A lot of right-wing voters, their main point is the symbolism. Their opposition is not like some deeper thing that the symbolism represents. The left craves political power and has cultural power. As Trump demonstrated, all you really need to care about is don't tell people you're not going to cut Social Security or Medicare.
