What Makes a Really Good Short Story?
One of the trademarks of your writing, something you're famous for is the way you manage to combine both funny and awful. Sometimes in the same paragraph, even the same sentence, sort of looking for the humor in our anxiety or misery. I guess it's a sensibility but it's also a fact of life. What do you think makes a really good short story? You know, many things. The primary thing is, of course, that you give the reader an experience of something.
