Putting the Club on Your Seatbelt

Robert Kenneth Roberts was among the first government officials who became convinced that packaging the passenger with seat belts and other devices was key to reducing injuries. 1963 saw nationwide offer its first incentive for wearing your seat belt. 1971 Chrysler again the Chrysler Imperials the first production vehicle to come standard with anti-lock brakes. This was all about shorter stopping distances making sure the cars didn't spin out on slippery surfaces.
