The Cross Over, a Book Review

i gravitated back to fiction while in the iowa poetry workshop. Poetryas as it was taught at iowa, was a house of cards,. but i can't communicate an idea except through a story. There is a lyricism to this book. And there is a like, for lack of a better word, there'sk there is a literary quality to the writing. But it is not trying to be hard toy. Aif she doesn't want to write a book that a reader won't understand and would feel ashamed for not under standing, i think there isike. The loose narrative being like the scaffolding that the poetry is sort of sitting on.
